    • Hrushikesh Karandikar is the female neutered? many times in cases of pyometra you get PU/PD. ask the onwer when the female came in heat. and why is she on enrofloxacin? you suspect vaginitis or any urinary track infection? ask the owner if she is scooting or licking her vagina. you can also add haem-up or dexorange if you find pale mucous membrane and PCV on bit of lower side.endocrine diseases is a bit late for 12 yrs old dog..

    • Gautam Unny Mannitol is used at1g/kg body weight, and i have used it for meningitis, glaucoma and to induce urination when there is total anuria. it needs to be given slow and is very safe. it can be used whenever u suspect any increase in intracranial pressure.

‎@ashwin if time permits we do go for tests, but in most cases of meningitis/encephalitis/ injury mannitol is needed immidiately. very recently, i remember a case of epilepsy with the dog presing her head against the wall, and we gave manni...See More

    • Swarupmay Majumdar bodys temp is maintained by hypothalamus. in case of cranial injury thypothalamus also may be involved. that may be reason for reduced temp. one mmore reson could be, the dog had a lower perfusion to its organs due to shock. use other fluids too with mannitol in such cases. think about mannitol after giving fluid for shock reversal. Gautam sir, Am I not correct?
