metronidazole is preferably not used in pups, it causes lots of problems. vomiting is a after effect!

i have used normet syrup a lot in puppies. i have not faced any problem yet

Dear Swarup, you are right. All the cases of GE do not need Metronidazole. but when you are sure that the stools are foul smelling, watery to semisolid, it is advisable for gut acting antimicrobial especially to check growth of anaerobic microbes.

I think I will never use metronidazole if it is case of gastritis or GE , I will use only if it is eneteritis. in selected cases, only.
