PLE PLN

Gautam Unny i would like inputs on a common clinical case we get in the clinics of ascitis. the common parameters being low total protein and low albunim. i have rarely got permanent success in such cases. how does one treat protein losing enteropathy, protein losing nephopathy, exudative loses and chronic hepatic diseases.

all views would be appreciated.

Gautam PLE and PLN are quite rare. PLN routine urine analysis. but before u go to the gut rule out heart, liver and kidneys. heart, ecg, x ryas where possible echo. hepatic cases tough really but even other stuff like cholesterol should be low.

fine. This is a good topic and we have very few comments. Dr Gautam can u try to write something more about this. I find most of us are just taking ascites in simple- lasix, neohepatex way.
