I take the privelege of introducing myself as Dr. Ayyappan, Associate professor ,Department of Veterinary surgery and radiology, Madras veterinary college. My area of interest is Small animal orthopedic surgery, pediatric orthopedics, skeletal deformities, Joint affecti...ons and Neurology. I have about 15 years of clinical experience in small animal orthopaedic surgery and 5 years of experience Intensive care and emergency medicine. I specialise in is a small animal orthopaedics and work at the small animal orthopaedic unit of the Madras Veterinary college teaching hospital. I completed a 2 month orthopedic training at the Small animal hospital, University of Zurich, Switzerland in 1994,the basic, advanced and special training in orthopedic surgery at AO-International, Davos, Switzerland in 1994, 1995 and 1999. I completed a Phd in 1996 .Subsequently I completed a two year Clinical Post doctoral fellowship in orthopaedic surgeryat the Department of Veterinary Clinical Medicine, School of Veterinary Medicine, Purdue University, USA from 2000-2002 and worked as a consultant at the heart2 heart speciality veterinary hospital, singapore for 2 months. Presently, my focus is on clinical orthopaedic surgeries in chennai and would be glad to answer queries as a consultant in this regard.
