where do indian pet clinics stands vis a vis US pet clinics

Dhanan Jaya Rao Our clinics are in NO way inferior to the American clinics. Except for the manpower-reception (2 or 3) & Techs etc., Almost every clinic has x-ray machine- one had digital.
Dental unit is common in all the clinics indicating more awareness amongst clients. Surgeries-spaying, castration very common apart from others lik...e small tumors, management of wounds, fractures- all done by one clinician only- common to have more than one vet in the clinic-partnership practice. Some have ICU units... to be contd.

a case of pyometra

Swarupmay Majumdar 11yrs old female indian dog, off feed 2 days, passing blood suddenly in moderate quantity with urine and thats what the panic filled owner tells me over phone. No history of getting crossed as far as they know and the dog is housed inside all the time.
I reached them 1.5 hr after the call as they stay in Electronic city..., 20kms away from my clininc. As I reach their house,I am welcomed with a puppy that was struck near the pelvis, it came out easily with a gentle pulling.
Vaginal Exam: Cx: dilated completely, no pups can be felt on passage,straining are faint but dog is active, t-100*f her belly enlarged hugely and abdominal palpations is fruitless,I could make out nothing. it was late at night, I cant afford an X-ray here for dogs, I tried in nearby medical stores to get Calcium sandoz or oxytocin, I failed to get them. I used 25% Dextrose IV 200 ml. and just came back as I found there's no risk and they can wait .

you need to get a local x ray unit to help you. almost all vets use local human hospitals for x rays.
the gap between two pups must not exceed three hours.
oxytocin can be mixed in 25D
you also need to tie up with a local vet surgeon for surgery cases. in practice you cannot afford to let any case get away. so this case even on a 50:50 cash sharing basis with another vet could have got you a lot of cash, then the dressings. so find a vet fast.

Dancing Doberman disease is a neuromuscular disease of Doberman Pinschers of either sex, 6 mo to 7 yr old. Initially, affected dogs intermittently flex the hip and stifle of one pelvic limb while standing. Within several months, most dogs alternately flex and extend both pelvic limbs in a dance-like fashion. They often prefer to sit rather than ... See morestand. The condition slowly progresses to mild paraparesis, decreased proprioception, and atrophy of the gastrocnemius muscles. The thoracic limbs are not affected. The etiology is unknown. Pathologic changes have been reported in pelvic limb muscles as well as peripheral nerves, and whether this is a primary muscle or nerve disease remains to be clarified. There is no treatment, and signs do not resolve. However, the disease usually does not result in severe disability and does not appear to be painful.

Michael Jackson, had both Vitiligo and DLE!! so its difficult imagining alone. Vitiligo is also related with immuno suppressive conditions. so avoid cortisones in suspected cases of vitiligo please, as it may become severe. Also to mention, better keep the animal on veg food strictly.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Its not ture that vitiligo is having no treatments. Forget about those plasing etc, homeopathy is giving very good result.Anyway this list is for those vets who believes there are many other ways to treat also other than only allopathy.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Homeopathic treatments: ... See more
1. give " ginko biloba 200- 4 doses- morning eveining for 2 days"
2. wait and on on 7th day give " Arsenic Sulph Flavum 1M- 1 dose-orally'
3. repeat after 7 days
4. on 3rd wk, if no changes are seen give " Syphilinum 1M 1 dose orally one.
5. wait for a wk and again repeat " Arsenic sulph Flavum 1m -1 dose orally.
6. during this whole process, you make a paste of " OIL OF BUCHI mother tincuter " 1 ml in 1 tsp plain vaselin or liq parafin and keep applying for a month.

If the mark are on lips, there's no results coming from the treatment ,but if lips are untouched, you will get sucess.

if you try this "oil of buchi-arsnic sulph-ginko biloba-syphylinum" comination, please us know how far it worked.
